Embrace being in the pictures
Document Life

I’m not here to tell you that I take pretty pictures,
you can see that.
I’m here to tell you that your life is worth documenting.
The way your little ones grow and change each year is worth capturing. The way your body evolves and changes through pregnancy and motherhood is worth documenting. The same goes for your ever-evolving family.
Because no one stays young forever. Not even our kids.
For moms and families who want to be seen in their story.
Honest & Artful Storytelling
BEHIND THE CAMERA LENS
Hello, I'm Michelle
I’m a natural-light motherhood and family photographer based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, driven by an honest, heartfelt passion for documenting motherhood and family life.
But this space isn't about my editing style or the way I approach a session. You can read more about that below if you'd like. This is about my why.
Since becoming a mother myself, the way I see and feel things has changed drastically. I think many parents can relate to that feeling of wanting to hold onto the little things, knowing all too well how quickly they change.
It's the way your child clings to you, the chipped nail polish, the dinosaur figurines scattered across the living room floor. The belly laughs, the messy ice cream faces, or that favourite stuffed animal they've carried around for the past six months.
These are the little pieces of family life that make your story yours. The things that might seem ordinary now, but one day will bring back a feeling, a memory, a version of your child who has long since grown.
And that's what draws me to this work.
I want to create photographs that go beyond what a moment looked like. Photographs that bring you back to how it felt to hold your baby, to be needed in a hundred little ways and to live through a season of life that was beautiful, exhausting, messy and entirely yours.
I want you to feel seen, too. Because amidst the beautiful chaos of raising a family, it's easy to forget that you're part of the story, too. I want you to look at your family through my eyes and see just how special, messy, beautiful and wonderfully yours it all is.
